I coordinate donations at the Liberty Community Church in San Diego. Every year around this time we hear from families who have nothing warm for their children, and this year demand has more than doubled.
We're collecting clean, gently used or new coats, boots, hats, gloves and scarves in sizes 4-12. If you're in San Diego, we can arrange a pick-up or you can drop things at the Liberty Community Church on Saturday between 10am and 4pm.
If you're elsewhere, you may offer to sponsor a coat through a local shop - message in the comments and we can coordinate.
Items go to families directly and the rest to the the Liberty Community Church clothing bank, which is open to everyone.
Glad we found this place.

Hang in there. This could happen to any of us. It's not much but it's yours.
you're not alone, Violet. Gave what I could, wish it was more.
Hope you get there. My sister had a similar thing happen so this one hit home. Love from Johannesburg!
