Jose needs dialysis three times a week and has lost the ability to drive; volunteer drivers can each take one day.

Jose has been on dialysis for 4 years and until recently drove to the Los Angeles Kidney Centre alone. After an eyesight problem, Jose can no longer drive. Taxis cost more than the family can pay three times a week. We're building a rota of volunteer drivers. Each session is 3 hours, including the trip there and back; most volunteers take one regular day. The journey is about 32 km each way. Jose is cheerful company. You'd need a car in good condition and a clean driving record. We'll cover your fuel costs, and the family will send you home with homemade food. Please say which day works for you in the comments. I hope life is good to you.

      • Good luck. I work in healthcare and wanted you to know people are on your side. Our whole street has been following this since the weekend.

        • Sending love, Faith. Shared it with a few friends. My cousin had a similar thing happen so this one hit home.

          • sending strength. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. All the best!
