I coordinate donations at the Cedar Family Centre in Bakersfield. Every year around this time we hear from families who have nothing warm for their children, and this year demand has more than doubled. We're collecting clean, gently used or new coats, boots, hats, gloves and scarves in sizes toddler through teen. If you're in Bakersfield, we can arrange a pick-up or you can drop things at the Cedar Family Centre on Wednesday between 9am and 2pm. If you're elsewhere, you may offer to sponsor a coat through a local shop - message in the comments and we can coordinate. Items go to families directly and the rest to the the Cedar Family Centre clothing bank, which is open to everyone. Thank you for reading my story.

  • you're not alone, Eli. I hope things turn around soon. I went through something like this 13 years ago and strangers helped me out. God bless.

You're not alone. A secure home matters so much. Hope you're settled soon. I went through something like this 12 years ago and strangers helped me out. God bless.

          • praying for you, Eli. I hope your landlord gives you a bit more time while this comes together. My neighbor in Buffalo donated after I showed her your page.
