A simple way to help: donate warm clothing for kids at Maple Women's Shelter.

I coordinate donations at Maple Women's Shelter in Thrissur. Every year around this time we hear from families who have nothing warm for their children, and this year demand has more than doubled. We're collecting clean, gently used or new coats, boots, hats, gloves and scarves in sizes 4-12. If you're in Thrissur, we can arrange a pick-up or you can drop things at Maple Women's Shelter on Sunday between 9am and 2pm. If you're elsewhere, you may offer to sponsor a coat through a local shop - message in the comments and we can coordinate. Items go to families directly and the rest to the Maple Women's Shelter clothing bank, which is open to everyone. Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.

  • Take care, Jignesh. Your post was clear and honest. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. God bless.

    • Hang in there, Jignesh. I hope your landlord gives you a bit more time while this comes together. The breakdown of costs made it easy to trust.

      • take care. I was in a similar spot a few years ago and it did get better. Greetings from Atlanta

        • Keep going. Gave what I could, wish it was more. I went through something like this 12 years ago and strangers helped me out.

          • sending love, Jignesh. I hope things turn around soon. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it. Greetings from Lucknow.
