Weekly meals for families and seniors in Baton Rouge
Logan runs a volunteer pantry feeding 251 families; this fund restocks shelves for the rainy season.

Since 2019, our volunteer team has run Neighbors' Pantry every Sunday from the back of the old library basement. We started with 21 families, and now we feed 251 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 40% this rainy season, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 20 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Baton Rouge market and keep every receipt.
Each $35 feeds a family of four for a week.
I'll post the weekly shopping receipts and a photo of the shelves each Sunday.
Where the $3,600 goes:
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $1,900
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $990
• Baby formula and diapers: $310
• Refrigeration and electricity: $400
You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.

Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. Greetings from Brandon.
is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Logan.
Sure. The biggest one is rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale), $1,900. The rest is in the list at the bottom of the post and I'll upload receipts as I pay each one. Thanks, that means a lot.
hang in there. More neighborhoods should do this. I hope October is when things finally get easier. Take care.

Best of luck. Projects like this are what make a place worth living in. I went through something like this 7 years ago and strangers helped me out. All the best.
Keep going, Logan. More neighborhoods should do this. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it. Greetings from Bang Khen

I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. After 17 years in teaching I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Thinking of Baton Rouge.
