Weekly meals for elderly neighbors in Columbia
The the Thursday Table pantry in Columbia is running low just as demand rises; $3,000 will stock it for 7 weeks.

Since 2019, our volunteer team has run the Thursday Table every Tuesday from the back of a school canteen. We started with 12 families, and now we feed 351 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 54% this summer, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 17 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Columbia market and keep every receipt.
Each $40 feeds a family of four for a week.
All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs.
Where the $3,000 goes:
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $1,100
• Baby formula and diapers: $510
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $1,390
