A repair café workshop: a volunteer-led effort in Saint-Denis
A community-led a repair café workshop at the Jacaranda health centre yard that will serve 503 neighbors.

For five years the neighborhood has asked for a repair café workshop. This year a group of 20 volunteers, including local mothers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Jacaranda health centre yard, but no funding.
We have received donated a pump, and the remaining cost is $2,300.
It will serve about 503 people, including children, seniors and people with disabilities. We'll hold a build day in June and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $2,300 goes:
• Permits and inspections: $210
• Tools hire and delivery: $270
• Materials: $1,820
