The tornado hit the families of Millbrook Lane on 17 September. My home was one of 40 damaged, and 6 families are still in temporary shelter at the community hall. The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming. Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before. We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy. We buy supplies locally and in bulk, so the money goes further. Receipts and photos will be posted in updates. Where the $6,300 goes: • Roofing sheets and timber: $1,750 • Clean water and purification supplies: $850 • Bedding, blankets and mattresses: $840 • Food parcels for displaced families: $1,950 • Tools and labor for repairs: $910 Thank you so much. - Savannah

Updates from Savannah

  1. Good news. Because of your gifts ($1,795 in total) the plan for clean water and purification supplies is now scheduled. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.

  2. Quick update: $3,130 raised so far (50%). I met with the suppliers and confirmed the amounts. Receipts coming as soon as I have them.
