Feed 69 families each week at the Sunday Shelf in Edinburgh
Lauren runs a volunteer pantry feeding 69 families; this fund restocks shelves for the summer.

Since 2022, our volunteer team has run the Sunday Shelf every Thursday from the back of a borrowed garage. We started with 21 families, and now we feed 69 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 49% this summer, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 9 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Edinburgh market and keep every receipt.
Each $25 feeds a family of four for a week.
I'll post the weekly shopping receipts and a photo of the shelves each Sunday.
Where the $1,500 goes:
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $740
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $340
• Baby formula and diapers: $290
• Refrigeration and electricity: $130
I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.

Stay strong. It takes guts to ask. Well done. My husband and I read this together. All the best!
Sending good thoughts, Lauren. Hope the build day goes well, wish I lived closer. I'm in farming myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you. Blessings.
Keep going. Looking forward to the next update. My neighbor in Ekurhuleni donated after I showed her your page.
thinking of you, Lauren. More neighborhoods should do this. After 11 years in logistics I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Love from Philadelphia
You're not alone. Your post was clear and honest. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry.
Thinking of you and your family, Lauren. This could happen to any of us. Read this on the bus and kept thinking about it all day. Love from Lagos.
Wishing you peace, Lauren. Projects like this are what make a place worth living in. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double.
Hope things get better soon, Lauren. It takes guts to ask. Well done. Thinking of Edinburgh.
