Weekly meals for elderly neighbors in Aswan
The the Thursday Table pantry in Aswan is running low just as demand rises; $450 will stock it for 7 weeks.

Since 2020, our volunteer team has run the Thursday Table every Monday from the back of a school canteen. We started with 30 families, and now we feed 67 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 41% this rainy season, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 16 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Aswan market and keep every receipt.
Each $5 feeds a family of four for a week.
All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs.
Where the $450 goes:
• Baby formula and diapers: $45
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $170
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $235
Ask me anything below before you decide. I'd rather you were sure.

You're not alone. More neighborhoods should do this. Greetings from Rochester.

Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Nada
Sure. The biggest one is baby formula and diapers, $45. The rest is in the list at the bottom of the post and I'll upload receipts as I pay each one. It helps to be asked.
Praying for you, Nada. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. My mother had a similar thing happen so this one hit home.
Can I help in a way that isn't money? I'm near Aswan
