We lost everything in the storm: help the Sunrise district start over
The storm damaged 39 homes in the Sunrise district. We're raising funds for repairs, supplies and temporary shelter.

The storm hit the Sunrise district on 20 June. My home was one of 39 damaged, and 12 families are still in temporary shelter at the sports club.
The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming.
Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before.
We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy.
Funds go to building materials, water purification supplies, bedding, and food for families still in shelters.
Where the $4,350 goes:
• Roofing sheets and timber: $2,100
• Food parcels for displaced families: $550
• Bedding, blankets and mattresses: $430
• Tools and labor for repairs: $1,270

What exactly is the $4,350 for?
Sure. The biggest one is roofing sheets and timber, $2,100. The rest is in the list at the bottom of the post and I'll upload receipts as I pay each one. It helps to be asked.
