We lost everything in the storm: help Marketplace village start over
The storm damaged 67 homes in Marketplace village. We're raising funds for repairs, supplies and temporary shelter.

The storm hit Marketplace village on 10 May. My home was one of 67 damaged, and 11 families are still in temporary shelter at the local school gym.
The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming.
Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before.
We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy.
Funds go to building materials, water purification supplies, bedding, and food for families still in shelters.
Where the $5,250 goes:
• Tools and labor for repairs: $1,300
• Bedding, blankets and mattresses: $1,200
• Roofing sheets and timber: $2,750
You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.

Wishing you peace. I hope things turn around soon. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. Love from Kumasi
