A community fridge: a volunteer-led effort in Latina
A community-led a community fridge at Liberty Primary School that will serve 363 neighbors.

For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a community fridge. This year a group of 11 volunteers, including the neighborhood football club, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Liberty Primary School, but no funding.
We have received donated tools, and the remaining cost is $400.
It will serve about 363 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in August and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $400 goes:
• Permits and inspections: $85
• Safety equipment and signage: $120
• Tools hire and delivery: $195
