I have worked as a security guard for 17 years, and I'm 45. After the factory closing, I decided to move into renewable energy, and I have completed a bootcamp. What I'm missing is someone who has walked this path: feedback on my interview answers, a realistic view of the job market in North Rhine-Westphalia, and a sounding board when things feel overwhelming. I'm hoping for one 45-minute video call a month for three months, plus the occasional email question. I'll bring specific questions and I won't waste your time. All I can offer back is my thanks, and I'll mentor someone else once I'm settled. I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.

Hope things get better soon. Shared this with my family. Don't be hard on yourself for asking. God bless.

    • Sending strength, Jana. It takes guts to ask. Well done. My neighbor in Munich donated after I showed her your page.

      • Sending love. Gave what I could, wish it was more. It's not much but it's yours.

        • Stay strong. Shared it with a few friends. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Thinking of Duisburg.

          • Keep going, Jana. Hope the shop reopens soon. My husband and I read this together
