Volunteers needed to fix a leaking roof for Michal in Tel Aviv

Could you spare one long weekend to help repair a leaking roof in Tel Aviv?

I'm a retired bus driver living in Tel Aviv. During the last storm water started coming through the ceiling in 4 places, and the kids' bedroom is no longer usable. A roofer quoted $3,450, which isn't something I can pay. The good news: a local hardware store has donated the corrugated iron sheets and timber. What I don't have is people to do the work. I'm looking for anyone handy who can help over one long weekend. Experience helps, but it isn't essential - I'll have a licensed roofer supervising for safety. All you need is to be comfortable with heights or willing to help from the ground. I'll provide lunch, water and lots of thanks. The work will be done on the ground and roof with proper harnesses. If you can only help for a few hours, that's welcome too. Glad we found this place.

hope it all works out, Michal. Rent stress is the worst. Hope this helps. Read this on the bus and kept thinking about it all day. Thinking of Tel Aviv.

    • Good luck, Michal. I was in a similar spot a few years ago and it did get better. After 11 years in farming I know how hard it's to ask for anything.

      • Thanks for sharing this, Michal. I was in a similar spot a few years ago and it did get better. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Blessings.
