Volunteers needed to fix a leaking roof for Clara in Vancouver
Clara, a single mother of three, needs a few skilled and unskilled helpers for a 1-weekend roof repair in Vancouver.

I'm a single mother of three living in Vancouver. During the last storm water started coming through the ceiling in 3 places, and the kitchen is no longer usable. A roofer quoted $6,000, which isn't something I can pay.
The good news: a local hardware store has donated the roofing sheets and nails. What I don't have is people to do the work. I'm looking for three or four volunteers who can help over three weekday mornings.
Experience helps, but it isn't essential - I'll have a licensed roofer supervising for safety. All you need is work boots and a hat. I'll provide lunch, water and lots of thanks.
The work will be done on the ground and roof with proper harnesses. If you can only help for a few hours, that's welcome too.
You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.

Take care, Clara. Gave what I could, wish it was more. I hope October is when things finally get easier.
I hope your landlord gives you a bit more time while this comes together. My mother had a similar thing happen so this one hit home!
Wishing you peace. I was in a similar spot a few years ago and it did get better. Don't be hard on yourself for asking.
Stay strong. I hope things turn around soon. Thinking of Vancouver.
