Baobab Park needs a repair café workshop - Hudson's neighborhood project
Volunteers in San Jose are raising $3,800 for a repair café workshop at Baobab Park.
🇺🇸 California, United States2,065 views
For three years the neighborhood has asked for a repair café workshop. This year a group of 15 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Baobab Park, but no funding.
We have received donated a pump, and the remaining cost is $3,800.
It will serve about 289 people, including children, seniors and people with disabilities. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $3,800 goes:
• Materials: $2,950
• Permits and inspections: $320
• Safety equipment and signage: $340
• Tools hire and delivery: $190
I hope life is good to you.
