Veteran in need: Denise's next mission is stability
After ten years of service, Denise is raising funds for a trained service dog and handler course.

I served ten years in the medical corps and was discharged in 2025 with a back injury. I have been waiting seven months for support, and meanwhile I'm sleeping at my brother's place.
I have a plan: a trained service dog and handler course. The quote I have comes to $1,800.
I'm receiving counseling through the veterans' clinic and am committed to my recovery. Structure and a stable place to live are the missing pieces.
I'd be grateful for any help and will share updates on how I'm doing.
I'll post invoices, with personal details hidden.
Where the $1,800 goes:
• Essential household items: $210
• Housing deposit and first month: $1,150
• Transport to appointments: $440
I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.
