Two weekends of roof repair for Gerhard, a night-shift nurse in Johannesburg
The roof at Gerhard's home is failing; materials are donated and we need hands.

I'm a night-shift nurse living in Johannesburg. During the last storm water started coming through the ceiling in 3 places, and the kitchen is no longer usable. A roofer quoted $1,150, which isn't something I can pay.
The good news: a local hardware store has donated the roofing sheets and nails. What I don't have is people to do the work. I'm looking for a small crew who can help over two Saturdays.
Experience helps, but it isn't essential - I'll have a licensed roofer supervising for safety. All you need is work boots and a hat. I'll provide lunch, water and lots of thanks.
The work will be done on the ground and roof with proper harnesses. If you can only help for a few hours, that's welcome too.
You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.

take care. I was in a similar spot a few years ago and it did get better. Please keep us posted. Take care.
Thinking of you and your family, Gerhard. Gave what I could, wish it was more. I'm in logistics myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you. Love from Iztapalapa.
