Friendly visitor needed for a 73-year-old neighbor in Bengaluru

I'm writing for my neighbor Deepa, who's 73. Deepa lives alone in Bengaluru, and lost a sister last year. The nearest family lives 291 kilometers away.
Deepa loves knitting, and would enjoy someone to chat with. An hour a week, perhaps on Friday afternoon, would mean the world. We can also arrange a phone call if you can't visit in person.
All visitors will be introduced by me and I'll be there at the first meeting. I'll share references and, if you'd like, a short orientation from the local befriending charity.
No special skills are needed - just kindness and patience.
