Salim is the first person in the family to go to university. He is studying a law degree at the Cairo Institute of Technology, and is one semester away from graduating. He has worked as a barista to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $450.
The registrar has said Salim can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Salim has a first-class average, and a department head has written in support.
Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Salim would lose his place and scholarship eligibility.
Salim isn't asking for a handout - He wants to finish what He started and help the next student.
Everything raised goes to the university's accounts office toward the outstanding balance and the final term's fees.
Where the $450 goes:
• Outstanding tuition balance: $210
• Final term tuition: $185
• Exam and lab fees: $20
• Textbooks and materials: $35

Sending strength, Sawsan. This could happen to any of us. Don't be hard on yourself for asking. Take care.
Thinking of you. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. Take care.
Take care, Sawsan. Your post was clear and honest. My neighbor in San Francisco donated after I showed her your page. Love from San Francisco.
Praying for you, Sawsan. As a teacher I love seeing someone work this hard to learn.
