Iloilo City
Joyce is the first person in the family to go to university. She is studying a computer science degree at Iloilo City Community College, and is one semester away from graduating. She has worked as a barista to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $650. The registrar has said Joyce can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Joyce has a 3.8 average, and a professor has written in support. Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Joyce would lose her place and scholarship eligibility. Joyce isn't asking for a handout - She wants to finish what She started and help the next student. Everything raised goes to the university's accounts office toward the outstanding balance and the final term's fees. Where the $650 goes: • Outstanding tuition balance: $410 • Final term tuition: $170 • Exam and lab fees: $40 • Textbooks and materials: $30 I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.
