Jae-hyun is the first person in the family to go to university. He is studying an agriculture degree at the Seoul Institute of Technology, and is one semester away from graduating. He has worked as a library assistant to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $3,150.
The registrar has said Jae-hyun can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Jae-hyun has a 3.8 average, and a faculty supervisor has written in support.
Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Jae-hyun would lose his place and scholarship eligibility.
Jae-hyun isn't asking for a handout - He wants to finish what He started and help the next student.
The payment will go directly to the the Seoul Institute of Technology bursar's office. I'll post the receipt.
Where the $3,150 goes:
• Outstanding tuition balance: $1,500
• Final term tuition: $1,350
• Exam and lab fees: $130
• Textbooks and materials: $170
Thanks for being kind about this.
