My family left Syria 5 months ago after the war reached our town. We spent time in a camp before we were resettled in Manukau. We're a family of six and we're safe, but we arrived with very little. Our resettlement agency has provided 4 months of rent, and that support ends in August. I was a teacher in Syria, and I'm studying the language every evening. Our daughter and son have started school and are doing well. We want nothing more than to be self-sufficient. This fund will help us through the first six months. All purchases will be documented and photos shared (with the family's consent). Where the $3,300 goes: • Winter clothing and school supplies: $610 • Beds, table and basic furniture: $1,250 • Rent deposit and first month: $1,440 You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.
