Wunmi was diagnosed with stomach cancer in February. The oncology team at the Lagos Oncology Institute has planned 8 rounds of treatment, starting in April. She will be away from work for about 3 weeks. Wunmi is 35, worked as a bakery worker until February, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to the Lagos Oncology Institute 4 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders. Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment. Where the $700 goes: • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $520 • Scans and lab work: $105 • Transport to the Lagos Oncology Institute: $75 Thank you for reading my story.
