We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a playground - we need $100 for materials.

For three years the neighborhood has asked for a playground. This year a group of 11 volunteers, including two retired carpenters, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Pioneer health centre yard, but no funding. We have received donated paint, and the remaining cost is $100. It will serve about 284 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in September and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $100 goes: • Safety equipment and signage: $30 • Permits and inspections: $20 • Tools hire and delivery: $50 I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.

Updates from Rubina

  1. Small update. $62 so far, the plan for permits and inspections is now scheduled.

  2. Quick update: $45 raised so far (45%). the plan for permits and inspections is now scheduled. Receipts coming as soon as I have them.

Sending good thoughts, Rubina. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did.
