For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a rainwater harvesting system. This year a group of 22 volunteers, including the parish youth group, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the old Lotus bus depot, but no funding. We have received donated a pump, and the remaining cost is $100. It will serve about 282 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in December and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $100 goes: • Permits and inspections: $35 • Safety equipment and signage: $40 • Tools hire and delivery: $25 Thanks for being kind about this.

    How is Nakato doing now?

    • Looking forward to the next update. My neighbor in Aswan donated after I showed her your page. God bless.

      • Hope the build day goes well, wish I lived closer. I went through something like this 13 years ago and strangers helped me out. Take care

        • Your post was clear and honest. After 29 years in teaching I know how hard it is to ask for anything

          • you're not alone, Nakato. Projects like this are what make a place worth living in. We're a small family in Buenos Aires but we're thinking of you. God bless.

            • So sorry you're going through this. Shared this with my family. Sent it to 37 people at work. Blessings.
