The old Freedom bus depot needs a sensory garden for children with autism - Gizem's neighborhood project
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a sensory garden for children with autism - we need $250 for materials.

For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a sensory garden for children with autism. This year a group of 27 volunteers, including the neighborhood football club, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the old Freedom bus depot, but no funding.
We have received donated paint, and the remaining cost is $250.
It will serve about 475 people, including local farmers and market traders. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $250 goes:
• Tools hire and delivery: $55
• Safety equipment and signage: $110
• Permits and inspections: $85
I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.
