The Liberty vacant lot needs a playground - Kathleen's neighborhood project
A community-led a playground at the Liberty vacant lot that will serve 159 neighbors.

For five years the neighborhood has asked for a playground. This year a group of 17 volunteers, including a group of teenagers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Liberty vacant lot, but no funding.
We have received donated paint, and the remaining cost is $650.
It will serve about 159 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $650 goes:
• Materials: $470
• Permits and inspections: $50
• Safety equipment and signage: $60
• Tools hire and delivery: $70
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.
