My family left Eritrea 10 months ago after our home was destroyed. We spent time in a camp before we were resettled in Fresno. We're a family of seven and we're safe, but we arrived with very little.
Our resettlement agency has provided 4 months of rent, and that support ends in August.
I was a teacher in Eritrea, and I'm studying the language every evening. Our daughter and son have started school and are doing well.
We want nothing more than to be self-sufficient. This fund will help us through the first six months.
All purchases will be documented and photos shared (with the family's consent).
Where the $3,700 goes:
• Rent deposit and first month: $1,250
• Beds, table and basic furniture: $1,250
• Winter clothing and school supplies: $470
• Language classes and bus passes: $420
• Phone and internet for school and job search: $310

Sure. The biggest one is rent deposit and first month, $1,250. The rest is in the list at the bottom of the post and I'll upload receipts as I pay each one. Thanks for looking so closely.
