The Freedom health centre yard needs a youth football pitch - Francisco's neighborhood project
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a youth football pitch - we need $3,450 for materials.
🇺🇸 United States718 views
For five years the neighborhood has asked for a youth football pitch. This year a group of 25 volunteers, including the parish youth group, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Freedom health centre yard, but no funding.
We have received donated tools, and the remaining cost is $3,450.
It will serve about 310 people, including children, seniors and people with disabilities. We'll hold a build day in February and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $3,450 goes:
• Materials: $2,350
• Permits and inspections: $165
• Safety equipment and signage: $350
• Tools hire and delivery: $585
Thank you for reading my story.

Good luck, Francisco. Your post was clear and honest. All the best.
keep going. Great idea, hope you get there. Read this on the bus and kept thinking about it all day. All the best.
reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. The breakdown of costs made it easy to trust. Greetings from Yonkers.
Good luck, Francisco. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Put this on a community board in Stockholm this morning. Thinking of Cleveland.
I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Wish I lived closer to Kathmandu so I could bring a meal. Love from Regensburg
