Shubra
For three years the neighborhood has asked for a sensory garden for children with autism. This year a group of 18 volunteers, including the parish youth group, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Baobab vacant lot, but no funding. We have received donated paint, and the remaining cost is $450. It will serve about 287 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in December and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $450 goes: • Materials: $270 • Permits and inspections: $30 • Safety equipment and signage: $45 • Tools hire and delivery: $105 I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to.

Updates from Mazen

  1. Update from Shubra: I met with the suppliers and confirmed the amounts. We're at 4% of the goal. Thank you for believing in us.

  2. Thank you all. We're at 10% now ($44). I'm honestly stunned. we've booked the dates and paid the deposit.
