The Bakr family fled Somalia - help them rebuild in Latina
Help a family of 4 start their new life in Latina: furniture, rent deposit and language classes.
🇮🇹 Latina, Lazio, Italy317 views
My family left Somalia 11 months ago after our home was destroyed. We spent time in a camp before we were resettled in Latina. We're a family of six and we're safe, but we arrived with very little.
Our resettlement agency has provided 4 months of rent, and that support ends in July.
I was an engineer in Somalia, and I'm studying the language every evening. Our daughter and son have started school and are doing well.
We want nothing more than to be self-sufficient. This fund will help us through the first six months.
All purchases will be documented and photos shared (with the family's consent).
Where the $1,500 goes:
• Phone and internet for school and job search: $110
• Language classes and bus passes: $410
• Beds, table and basic furniture: $440
• Winter clothing and school supplies: $540
