My family left Afghanistan 13 months ago after we were targeted for our work. We spent time in a camp before we were resettled in Saint-Denis. We're a family of five and we're safe, but we arrived with very little.
Our resettlement agency has provided 2 months of rent, and that support ends in August.
I was a mechanic in Afghanistan, and I'm studying the language every evening. Our daughter and son have started school and are doing well.
We want nothing more than to be self-sufficient. This fund will help us through the first six months.
All purchases will be documented and photos shared (with the family's consent).

• Rent deposit and first month: $1,000

Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Odette.
Sure. The biggest one is beds, table and basic furniture, $880. The rest is in the list at the bottom of the post and I'll upload receipts as I pay each one. Ask me anything else.
