Tenant-rights advice for Melanie in Los Angeles: a short consultation
A brief consultation with a housing advisor would help Melanie understand their rights.

My landlord in Los Angeles has given me a refusal to repair mold. I've read what I can online, but the rules are confusing and different sources contradict each other.
I'm hoping that someone with experience in housing or tenant rights in California could spare 20-30 minutes to explain the process, the deadlines and the documents I should collect.
I have my lease, all communications and photos organized. I'm happy to share them privately. I can't pay for a lawyer, so any guidance on free services in California would also be appreciated.
Thank you so much.

Sending strength, Melanie. Shared it with a few friends. I hope July is when things finally get easier. Greetings from Surabaya
You're not alone, Melanie. Hope you get there. I went through something like this 14 years ago and strangers helped me out. Blessings
Hope things get better soon, Melanie. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Greetings from Edmonton
