Tenant-rights advice for Gabriella in Laredo: a short consultation
A brief consultation with a housing advisor would help Gabriella understand their rights.

My landlord in Laredo has given me a 40% rent increase with a 30-day notice. I've read what I can online, but the rules are confusing and different sources contradict each other.
I'm hoping that someone with experience in housing or tenant rights in Texas could spare 20-30 minutes to explain the process, the deadlines and the documents I should collect.
I have my lease, all communications and photos organized. I'm happy to share them privately. I can't pay for a lawyer, so any guidance on free services in Texas would also be appreciated.
Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot.

Looking forward to the next update. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it. Greetings from Macon
Hope things get better soon. This could happen to any of us. Sent it to 13 people at work. All the best
Thinking of you, Gabriella. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. My neighbor had a similar thing happen so this one hit home. Greetings from Bakersfield!
hope it all works out, Gabriella. Gave what I could, wish it was more. After 8 years in public service I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Take care!
good luck, Gabriella. Hope this works out for you. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too. Take care
