Raffaele was diagnosed with a large ovarian cyst in August. The surgeon at Bologna Community Hospital recommended laparoscopic cyst removal, and He is scheduled for October. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $3,300, and after what the government subsidy will pay we're still $2,300 short.
my son has been in and out of Bologna Community Hospital since August. The doctors say a large ovarian cyst will get worse without laparoscopic cyst removal. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $3,300 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Raffaele struggles with daily life and can't drive. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Recovery is expected to take about 5 weeks. During that time Raffaele won't be able to drive, so the costs keep growing.
