Surgery fund for Nolan: knee replacement surgery in Erie
After a herniated spinal disc, Nolan was cleared for knee replacement surgery, but the bill is more than we can manage.

In March I was diagnosed with a herniated spinal disc. My surgeon at Erie Regional Medical Center recommended knee replacement surgery, and I have been placed on the schedule for May. The hospital's financial office gave me a written estimate of $7,000, and after what my employer's plan will pay, I'm still $3,550 short.
Doctors at Erie Regional Medical Center told me a herniated spinal disc will get worse without knee replacement surgery. I work as a security guard, and I have saved what I can, but the estimate of $7,000 is far beyond what I've.
Until the surgery I can't work full days, and my hours as a security guard have already been cut. Every week of waiting means more pain and a bigger risk.
The recovery period is expected to take about 5 weeks. I'll not be able to lift anything heavy during that time, so this has become a financial emergency as well as a medical one.
