Brenda was diagnosed with a torn ligament that needs reconstruction in August. The surgeon at Vancouver Orthopedic Institute recommended palate reconstruction surgery, and She is scheduled for November. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $6,750, and after what our health plan will pay we're still $5,400 short.
my wife has been in and out of Vancouver Orthopedic Institute since August. The doctors say a torn ligament that needs reconstruction will get worse without palate reconstruction surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $6,750 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Brenda struggles with daily life and can't lift anything heavy. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Recovery is expected to take about 6 weeks. During that time Brenda won't be able to lift anything heavy, so the costs keep growing.
