Autumn was diagnosed with a benign brain tumor in August. The surgeon at San Diego General Hospital recommended septoplasty, and She is scheduled for November. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $7,750, and after what the government subsidy will pay we're still $5,450 short. my daughter has been in and out of San Diego General Hospital since August. The doctors say a benign brain tumor will get worse without septoplasty. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $7,750 is more than we can find. While we wait, Autumn struggles with daily life and can't lift anything heavy. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there. Recovery is expected to take about 4 weeks. During that time Autumn won't be able to lift anything heavy, so the costs keep growing.
