Surgery fund for Abril: a craniotomy in Louisville
After osteoarthritis in the right knee, Abril was cleared for a craniotomy, but the bill is more than we can manage.

Abril was diagnosed with osteoarthritis in the right knee in May. The surgeon at Louisville University Hospital recommended a craniotomy, and She is scheduled for August. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $7,750, and after what my employer's plan will pay we're still $5,750 short.
my mother has been in and out of Louisville University Hospital since May. The doctors say osteoarthritis in the right knee will get worse without a craniotomy. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $7,750 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Abril struggles with daily life and can't lift anything heavy. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Recovery is expected to take about 3 weeks. During that time Abril won't be able to lift anything heavy, so the costs keep growing.
