Stop the eviction: 5 months of rent for Nithya's family in Pune
The closure of the factory left Nithya short on rent for 5 months; help us stay in our home.

When the restaurant closed in August, I fell 5 months behind on rent. Last Friday a termination letter was taped to my door, and the amount I owe is $500.
My landlord has been understanding for a while, but he has now been clear: if the arrears aren't cleared by December, we must leave.
I have a toddler and a baby at home. Moving isn't just an expense - it would mean new schools, a new commute and no deposit to put down anywhere else.
I have started working extra hours at a market stall, and I'm applying for help from local services, but nothing will arrive in time without the rest of the gap covered here.
The money will be paid directly to the landlord and I'll upload the receipt once it's done.
Where the $500 goes:
• First month of rent as a buffer: $140
• Late fees and court costs: $30
• Rent arrears (5 months): $330
Glad we found this place.

You're not alone, Nithya. Hope you get there. I have a 5 year old who wants to send good wishes too.
Thinking of you, Nithya. Your post was clear and honest. After 28 years in teaching I know how hard it's to ask for anything
Keep going, Nithya. This could happen to any of us
Wishing you the best, Nithya. I hope things turn around soon. Take care.

I hope your landlord gives you a bit more time while this comes together. It's not much but it's yours. Take care!
Shared it with a few friends. We're a small family in Nashik but we're thinking of you.
Rooting for you, Nithya. Hope this works out for you. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money.
Rooting for you, Nithya. I hope your landlord gives you a bit more time while this comes together. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry.
Wishing you peace, Nithya. Rent stress is the worst. Hope this helps. I'll check back for the next update. Love from George.
