Stop the eviction: 4 months of rent for Tatiane's family in Olinda
A cut in working hours left Tatiane short on rent for 4 months; help us stay in our home.
🇧🇷 Olinda, Pernambuco, Brazil803 views
When the textile factory closed in June, I fell 4 months behind on rent. Last Thursday a 10-day notice to quit was taped to my door, and the amount I owe is $1,200.
My landlord has been understanding for a while, but he has now been clear: if the arrears aren't cleared by September, we must leave.
I've 1 children at home. Moving isn't just an expense - it would mean new schools, a new commute and no deposit to put down anywhere else.
I have started working weekend shifts, and I'm applying for help from local services, but nothing will arrive in time without the rest of the gap covered here.
Funds go to the landlord and nowhere else. Any amount left over after the arrears are cleared will go toward next month's rent.
Where the $1,200 goes:
• Rent arrears (4 months): $910
• Late fees and court costs: $80
• Utilities in arrears: $65
• First month of rent as a buffer: $145
With deep gratitude,
Tatiane

Sending love, Tatiane. Your post was clear and honest. Put this on a community board in Nha Trang this morning. All the best
Sending strength. Hope this works out for you. I hope September is when things finally get easier. Thinking of Olinda.
Keep going, Tatiane. Shared this with my family. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it
Thinking of you. Looking forward to the next update. Don't be hard on yourself for asking. Greetings from Gaziantep
Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Love from El Paso.
