Following a long illness in the family, Mackenzie fell 3 months behind on rent. Last Wednesday a termination letter was taped to the door, and the amount owed is $3,550. The landlord was understanding for a while, but has now been clear: if the arrears aren't cleared by April, the family must leave. There are a teenager still in school at home. Moving would mean new schools, a new commute and no deposit to put down anywhere else. Mackenzie has started working evenings as a cleaner, and is applying for help from local services, but nothing will arrive in time without the rest of the gap covered here. The money will be paid directly to the landlord and I'll upload the receipt once it's done. Where the $3,550 goes: • Rent arrears (3 months): $2,450 • Late fees and court costs: $340 • Utilities in arrears: $190 • First month of rent as a buffer: $570 Thanks for being kind about this.

Sure. The biggest one is rent arrears (3 months), $2,450. The rest is in the list at the bottom of the post and I'll upload receipts as I pay each one. Thanks for looking so closely.
