Stop the eviction: 3 months of rent for Eiji's family in Tokyo
After a divorce, Eiji is 3 months behind on rent and has a notice to vacate from the landlord.

When my hours were cut in half in September, Eiji fell 3 months behind on rent. Last Tuesday a notice to vacate was taped to the door, and the amount owed is $2,900.
The landlord was understanding for a while, but has now been clear: if the arrears aren't cleared by December, the family must leave.
There are a toddler and a baby at home. Moving would mean new schools, a new commute and no deposit to put down anywhere else.
Eiji has started working two part-time jobs, and is applying for help from local services, but nothing will arrive in time without the rest of the gap covered here.
Funds go to the landlord and nowhere else. Any amount left over after the arrears are cleared will go toward next month's rent.
Where the $2,900 goes:
• Rent arrears (3 months): $1,950
• Late fees and court costs: $210
• Utilities in arrears: $95
• First month of rent as a buffer: $645
Thank you so much.

best of luck. It takes guts to ask. Well done. I hope December is when things finally get easier. Take care
Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Eiji
Sure. The biggest one is rent arrears (3 months), $1,950. The rest is in the list at the bottom of the post and I'll upload receipts as I pay each one. Appreciate you taking the time.
Good luck, Mana. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. Love from Södertälje.
I was in a similar spot a few years ago and it did get better. My neighbor in Lahore donated after I showed her your page.
Praying for you, Mana. Gave what I could, wish it was more. Read this on the bus and kept thinking about it all day.
