Surgery fund for Ricardo: spinal decompression surgery in Oakland
After a herniated spinal disc, Ricardo was cleared for spinal decompression surgery, but the bill is more than we can manage.

Ricardo was diagnosed with a herniated spinal disc in June. The surgeon at Oakland Community Hospital recommended spinal decompression surgery, and He is scheduled for September. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $1,950, and after what the government subsidy will pay we're still $1,550 short.
my son has been in and out of Oakland Community Hospital since June. The doctors say a herniated spinal disc will get worse without spinal decompression surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $1,950 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Ricardo struggles with daily life and can't climb stairs. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Recovery is expected to take about 8 weeks. During that time Ricardo won't be able to climb stairs, so the costs keep growing.
The money goes straight to the treatment bills, and I'll share the invoices as they're paid so you can see exactly what your gift did.
