Mason was diagnosed with a hernia that has become strangulated in May. The surgeon at Los Angeles Community Hospital recommended septoplasty, and He is scheduled for August. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $8,250, and after what the government subsidy will pay we're still $6,600 short.
my father has been in and out of Los Angeles Community Hospital since May. The doctors say a hernia that has become strangulated will get worse without septoplasty. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $8,250 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Mason struggles with daily life and can't walk without help. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Rehabilitation is expected to take about 6 weeks. During that time Mason won't be able to walk without help, so the costs keep growing.
