A weekly ride to the Kumasi Kidney Centre for Kwabena
Could you drive Kwabena to the Kumasi Kidney Centre on Monday? A rota of 5 drivers is forming.
🇬🇭 Kumasi, Ashanti, Ghana174 views
Kwabena has been on dialysis for 4 years and until recently drove to the Kumasi Kidney Centre alone. After a foot amputation, Kwabena can no longer drive. Taxis cost more than the family can pay three times a week.
We're building a rota of volunteer drivers. Each session is 4 hours, including the trip there and back; most volunteers take one regular day. The journey is about 23 km each way.
Kwabena is cheerful company. You'd need a car in good condition and a clean driving record. We'll cover your fuel costs, and the family will send you home with homemade food.
Please say which day works for you in the comments.
Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.

Best of luck. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too. God bless.
Sending good thoughts, Nancy. Your post was clear and honest. After 22 years in hospitality I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Take care.
This could happen to any of us. I hope June is when things finally get easier.
Hope things get better soon. Shared this with my family. I'm in teaching myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you. Love from Medellín.
Thinking of you, Nancy. Get well soon. I'm in logistics myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you.
