When the packaging plant closed in March, I fell 2 months behind on rent. Last Sunday a 10-day notice to quit was taped to my door, and the amount I owe is $1,300. My landlord has been understanding for a while, but he has now been clear: if the arrears aren't cleared by June, we must leave. I have two young children at home. Moving isn't just an expense - it would mean new schools, a new commute and no deposit to put down anywhere else. I have started working weekend shifts, and I'm applying for help from local services, but nothing will arrive in time without the rest of the gap covered here. Funds go to the landlord and nowhere else. Any amount left over after the arrears are cleared will go toward next month's rent. Where the $1,300 goes: • First month of rent as a buffer: $155 • Rent arrears (2 months): $1,100 • Utilities in arrears: $45 If you can't give, please share this page. It does reach people.

is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Tetiana.

Everything on the list is an amount I've been quoted or invoiced. first month of rent as a buffer comes first ($155) and I'll update the page as each thing gets paid. Good question.
