Start-up fund for Yogesh: reopening a small grocery stall after floodwater
Yogesh has run a small grocery stall for six years; floodwater destroyed the equipment, and $400 will put it back on its feet.

For six years I have run a small grocery stall in Mumbai. In August, floodwater took a cold-storage unit. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me.
Before that, my customers came every Tuesday, and I employed 2 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 6 weeks.
This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment.
Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item.
I'll buy equipment from local suppliers and post photos and receipts as I go.
Where the $400 goes:
• Replacing a cold-storage unit: $155
• Initial stock: fresh produce: $100
• Shop repairs and licensing: $50
• Working capital for the first month: $95
I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to.

Hang in there, Yogesh. It takes guts to ask. Well done. Read this on the bus and kept thinking about it all day.
Thanks for sharing this, Yogesh. Gave what I could, wish it was more
Hope things get better soon. Gave what I could, wish it was more. Put this on a community board in Entebbe this morning. All the best

Gave what I could, wish it was more. Wish I lived closer to Kilkenny so I could bring a meal. God bless
